Union Chapel School received the “INTERACT CHARTER” from the RENAISSANCE ROTARIANS. We have the honour of being the first school to be installed by the RENAISSANCE…..and ever since then our young Interactors are persevering to ahead with this vision.

25th September 2016: ‘A Walk for Mother Teresa’
Our students and teachers participated in a walk organised in the memory of Mother Teresa to uphold her work done for the betterment of the underprivileged. The walk was conducted from Entally Convent to St. James’ School.

3rd October 2016:‘Creating Awareness on Environmental issues through drawing’

Students participated in the drawing competition to create awareness on Environmental issues. It was organised by the Fortis group.

23rd October 2016:‘Pre-diwali Celebration’
Our Interact Members attended the pre-Diwali meet organised by Rotary Club of Calcutta Renaissance in the lush grounds of Loreto School, Entally. The less fortunate children got a chance to enjoy horse rides, jumping on air balloons, face paint, tattooing, enjoying ‘phuckas’ and other food items. The event that they enjoyed the most was dancing to the beats of the popular bollywood songs played by DJs. There was also a provision of free dental check-up for these children. Our Interact members helped the organizers in manning the stalls and distributing food packets and fruit juices to the children.

28th January 2017: ‘Kids for Tiger’
Students participated in the awareness programme to save the tigers thereby save the ecological balance of the living planet. This programme was organised at La Martinere school for girls’. Our children performed a dance portraying their concern for saving and protecting the wild life from destruction

4th August 2016:‘Celebrating 86th Birthday
Mrs. Mavis Welleskey, a retired teacher was overjoyed when our Interact members visited Lawrence De Souza Home with a birthday cake, candles and gifts to celebrate her 86th birthday. The other elderly residents also joined in the celebration by lending their sweet and melodious voices as the children sang the birthday song and some hymns. They enjoyed the most when the children sang some songs of their times. Food packets were distributed to the residents and their care givers. The elderly residents of this old age home and of Mulvany Home are regularly invited to attend our school programmes.

18th August 2016: ‘A Visit to the Mulvany Home’
Our Interact members visited the Mulvany Home to spend time with the elderly residents who shared precious memories of their school days and their life in Kolkata of the days gone by. As a token of our love and gratitude towards the elderly residents, each month our Interact Club provide milk powder and other food items to this old age home, so that they can enjoy their cup of tea.
